At Little Lights Psychology, we have significant expertise in current evidence based psychological therapy practices for children and adolescents including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness.
We know that families and situations are unique, and we will take the time to get to know each individual we are working with, tailoring an approach to suit your child and family. We have hands-on activities, crafts and games to engage younger children. We are also equally accustomed to working with adolescents, building supportive working relationships through respectful conversations and understanding.
The range of psychological problems we have particular expertise working with include:
Emotional difficulties like anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief & loss, and adjustment to change.
Behavioural difficulties including school refusal and other school based issues, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder), compulsive behaviours, sleep difficulties.
Developmental disorders including ASD (Austism Spectrum Disorder)
When is it a good time to see a child psychologist?
At Little Lights Psychology we believe that no problem is too small. Early intervention can provide fundamental strategies to support a child’s resilience and help them develop coping strategies they can use into adulthood.
